How often do you get the chance to train with an instructor who has the credentials, talent, and history of Josef DellaGrotte who trained with legends such as Dr. Feldenkrais and Ida Rolf?
Josef is living proof that his training is one of the best methods for improving and maintaining a person! He will demonstrate by teaching and by example the importance of correct movement… essential for good health and a high quality of life.
As a clinician, he has helped a multitude of people with challenging problems which neither conventional medicine nor alternative methods could resolve.
Josef’s unique training in movement enabled him to take these techniques and put them together in a new mapping system based on biomechanics, neuromotor function, and myofascial pathways which is changing the conventional world of bodywork.

The CMI Certification Program

Entry Level – 100 hours

Entry-level training for practitioners already certified in a bodywork discipline who want to integrate CMI into their practice. Completion of this Program certifies that you are competent in the use of CMI techniques. Entry-Level Certification is required to advance to Full Certification. The curriculum is described below.

Advanced Level – 300 hours

An additional 200 hours of study beyond the Entry Level program leads to Full CMI Certification and the right to be called a Certified Core Movement Integration Practitioner. There are currently 40 Certified CMI Practitioners worldwide.

Entry-Level Certification (100 Hours) Curriculum

Eleven one-day (7 hours each) seminars each followed by a guided study lab (2 to 3 hours each) for review and additional practice.

After Foundations, each seminar topic is taken twice, usually at widely spaced intervals. This process enables practitioners to connect and deepen their understanding of each topic in relation to all other topics.

Initially, students focus on learning to use the Pathways in their own bodies for work, home and recreational activities. As mastery of the Pathways increases, the focus moves to teaching the CMI pathways and applying CMI principles in client treatments.

The program is open to all body workers.

The Seminars

  1. CMI: Foundations – Mapping Movement Pathways Using Functional Anatomy
  2. CMI: Dynamic Stabilization – Connecting Hips, Pelvis and Low Back
  3. CMI: Improving Sitting Posture – Connecting Deep Trunk Muscles and Spine
  4. CMI: Upper Body – Connecting Head-Neck and Spine to Pelvis
  5. CMI: Shoulder – Connecting Shoulder-Arm to Ribs, Spine and Pelvis
  6. CMI: Walking – Connecting Lower Leg to Greater Trochanter and Spine

How to Accrue Credit Hours

We strongly recommend taking Seminar 1 once and Seminars 2 to 6 twice, leading to 77 hours. Each seminar is followed by a 3-hour lab of supervised hands-on practice. The labs can provide 22 to 33 additional hours. Hours may also be accrued by attending a public CMI class (limited to 10 hours) and receiving individual one-on-one supervision with a certified CMI teacher.

From a graduate: “I have learned so much from the seminar program-shoulder, spine, gait, sitting postures and especially gait and walking. I enjoy bringing this approach to the public. The Core Integration training has changed my life. My work and practice is better. My Aikido is better. My life is better.
Byron Eddy, LMT and Aikido Martial Artist
